Choose AMRUM because…
- At AMRUM, we specialize in the mechanical covering of sugar beet clamps designated for late collection. Using specialized machinery, the nonwoven fabric is pressed into the pile, ensuring a tight seal and allowing for quick uncovering just before the raw material is collected.
Why Partner with AMRUM
We know that proper covering of clamps and crops is the key to success in every farm.
Less Work, More Efficiency
By entrusting AMRUM with nonwoven crop covering, farmers save valuable time that can be devoted to other urgent tasks on the farm. They also avoid the need to hire additional workers or purchase and lay the nonwoven fabric themselves — a process that is both time-consuming and physically demanding.
Professional Service
AMRUM has the right equipment (e.g. specialized machines for laying nonwoven fabric), ensuring better protection of the material against moisture, frost, and wind. Our experienced team guarantees proper and airtight covering.
Cost Reduction
Although the service is paid, in the long run it leads to savings. Minimizing losses in clamps or fields means more crops or feed can be sold or used — making the investment pay off quickly.
Expert Knowledge at Your Service
At AMRUM, we possess the expertise in best practices, the appropriate types of nonwoven fabric for specific applications, and effective fastening techniques. We advise on the solutions that will work best for your crops or clamps.
Safeguarding Crop Quality
How to Build Sugar Beet Clamps
Proper storage of sugar beets starts at the very stage of building the clamp. A well-prepared clamp is the key to maintaining high root quality and minimizing losses during winter storage.
Loss of Sugar Content
During winter storage, even under optimal conditions (healthy, clean, dry beets without leaves, stored in cool temperatures), sugar losses without covering amount to around 100 g per ton of beets per day.
That’s why mechanical covering with nonwoven fabric is the best way to preserve high quality and sugar polarization until delivery to the sugar factory.

lokalizacja
•Clamps should be built on hard, level, and permeable ground, preferably along transport routes.
• Recommended distance from the road: 1–2 m, with a minimum maneuvering space of 3 m.
• Avoid locations near power lines and trees.
Advantages: easier loading, reduced losses, less loose soil, soil protection.

Shape
•Clamp dimensions adjusted to the cleaner-loader model:
Maus 3 | w: 7,5 m x h: 3–3,5 m,
Maus 4–6 | w: 8,5 m x h: 2,8 m or
w: 9 m x h: 2,4 m.
• Optimal clamp height: 2,5–3 m.
•Min. clamp weight: approx. 200 t
• Minimum length: 30 m
• No limits regarding maximum dimensions

Ventilation
• Clamps should be formed evenly, with side slopes, without depressions or air bridges.
• Dumping beets directly from trailers is not allowed.
•Fresh air must be provided inside the clamp to limit rot and the development of microorganisms.
